Good hygiene and thorough cleaning are now more important than ever
At Freska we follow the Norwegian Health Institute's guidelines closely. Rest assured that we take our customers' and cleaners' health, homes and families very seriously.
Disinfection and hygiene routines
In the aftermath of COVID-19, we have updated our cleaning service: all our cleanings now include the disinfection of important contact surfaces in the home at no extra cost.
We follow the recommended cleaning guidelines closely. You can safely stay at home or take a walk outdoors while our professional cleaners do their work.
Cleaning & disinfecting
We avoid unnecessary physical contact
- We do not shake hands and seek to keep at least one meter of distance from others at work, during commutes and outside of work.
- Public transport: we keep distance & avoid rush hours, we use gloves and change them when arriving at customers' place, and we prioritize walking or cycling when possible (at work and outside of it)
We maximize hand hygiene
- Handwashing is the first and last thing we do when entering and leaving a customer´s home.
- We wash our hands thoroughly with soap, for at least 30 seconds, and dry with paper.
- If in doubt, we look at WHO´s guidelines for hand washing.
We use gloves throughout the cleaning
- We wear protective gloves throughout the whole cleaning.
- We are extra careful not to touch the outside surface of the gloves when discarding them after use.
Professional supplies & disinfection
- Cleaning liquids: We always and only use cleaning supplies provided by Freska as these have a pH of 8-10 (official recommendation)
- Disinfection: We finish each cleaning by disinfecting all door knobs, water taps, light switches, other handles and toilet including the flusher and also our equipment.
Managing dirty equipment
- We clean or disinfect all our equipment thoroughly after and between all cleanings.
- If not wearing shoes, we wear clean socks for each customer (wash at 90°C).
Used & clean equipment
- Used equipment: we put used cloths, sponges, mops, (socks) in a separate plastic bag, and close the bag with a knot, before placing into our backpacks or bags. We wash the equipment at 90°C as always, before using it again.
- Clean equipment: We put our clean equipment in a clean plastic bag, before they go into our backpacks.
In summary
- In Freska, we all travel safely and use face coverings the correct way
- We do not shake hands (we do smile and namaste! instead)
- We wash our hands and put on gloves
- We clean as normal and keep distance if customers are home
- We disinfect high-touch surfaces in the home
- We clean our own equipment and put dirty stuff in a plastic bag, then tie a knot
- We wash our hands again
- We clean used supplies on 90C and put it in a clean plastic bag
- We keep a safe distance to our customers when cleaning
- We make sure all our employees abide by the quarantine rules when travelling.
Instructions to our customers:
- We will not carry out cleanings in homes where customers have symptoms or have been put in quarantine. If you are in quarantine, we ask you to inform us of this via e-mail and not receive your cleaner at home.
- We ask for your understanding in situations where we potentially need to change the time or send a substitute as a result of your regular cleaner not being able to come as a result of one of the reasons due to corona, as mentioned above.
