7 tips to get the most out of your home cleaning
Congratulations! Since you’re reading this, you either booked a cleaning with Freska or are a few clicks away. This means you’re already one step closer to making a positive impact — both in your daily life and in the lives of our wonderful cleaners — and we couldn’t be happier. To make sure we spend every minute in your home making you just as happy, we have listed our top timesaving tips to get the best Freska experience.
1. Check that your equipment is in good condition
Did you know that your vacuum cleaner and mop can make the biggest difference in your cleaning experience? In Freska, we take great pride in hiring the very best cleaners in the country — but even Beyonce needs the right equipment for her skills to really shine. In our case, the vacuum cleaner must have a strong suction and be tall enough to use without having to bend over. There should also be extra vacuum bags available if needed.
Long-term back injuries are amongst the main reasons many cleaners are forced to retire early from the industry, which we can all agree we would never want to cause. Therefore, if your equipment is not usable without injury, we will have to make due without — which sadly will eat up a lot of time from your booking, while your home won’t reach its full cleanliness potential. So, let’s all make a pact to check our vacuums and mops regularly!
2. Make necessary arrangements so we can enter your home
This one might seem obvious, but you’d be surprised how many times our cleaners have called us in panic because they are unable to enter a home that they were looking forward to cleaning. So, if the doors don’t open at the time of the booking, our cleaners have our full permission to leave after 15 minutes of waiting if no communication is made. Please note that you will still be charged for the cleaning, as we believe our cleaners deserve to get a full salary regardless.
Remember to always write the apartment number in addition to the building number.
By giving us the key, you don't have to be home at every cleaning to let us in. This makes life easier! Just contact our lovely customer service to arrange the key handover. If nobody will be home at the time of your booking and you are relying on a key box or alternative entry method, our top tip is to check that it really works. Because, even though we’d love to be sometimes, we are not MacGyver.
3. Remove toys and laundry from surfaces and floors
This tip is definitely a time saver! By removing toys and laundry from areas that need cleaning, we can spend the precious time that we have to make your home really shine!
4. Book extra services in advance
Imagine showing up to swim practice without your swimsuit. You’d feel completely unprepared for the task ahead. That’s how our cleaners feel when asked to do an extra service on the day. So, another top tip to get the most out of your Freska cleaning and avoid any confusion is to book a fridge-, oven-, window-, or rubbish bin cleaning in advance. This way, we can ensure that we have enough time and the right people available. Our customer service team will be more than happy to help you!
Our cleaners don’t travel with oven cleaners as it’s incredibly corrosive so, when booking an oven cleaning, it’s important to check that you have enough oven cleaner at home.
5. Leave all necessary equipment in plain sight
Another great way to safe more time for the actual cleaning is to remember to always leave all the equipment (mop, vacuum cleaner, extra vacuum bags, outside bin, oven cleaner) by the entrance or leave detailed instructions on where to find them in the Freska app.
6. Meet your cleaner at the parking spot if they need a guest card
This saves a lot of valuable time for your cleaning and really helps us avoid any parking tickets. Another tip is to write details about where to park in the Freska app prior to your booking. Your cleaner will love you for it!
7. Communicate any special needs or priorities for each booking
We often hear experts say that communication is key –– and after nearly 1 million bookings, we can say with full certainty that good communication will improve your Freska experience! Do you have any special needs or priorities for the booking? Then it’s absolutely worthwhile to share these with your cleaner, preferably via the Freska app or by contacting our customer service before your booking.
